Piccini: “Valencia is our home and the Valencian people are our people”
The former Valencia CF footballer has helped those affected by the DANA storm with over 3,000 kg of food
LaLiga action takes a break for international fixtures this week, but the Valencia CF players available to coach José Bordalás continue to work hard at the Ciudad Deportiva. Dmitri Foulquier is one such player, and he spoke with VCF Media this week to reflect on his time at the club since joining in the summer transfer market.
The international break
We are going to keep on working, harder than ever, in order to keep fit and be ready when the competition resumes. We have a good group, and the only thing we want is to get good results. We're working on that on a daily basis, and we are going to try to improve the many things that we have to improve.
Recent fightbacks to get results
The group have shown character by fighting back in very difficult situations. We have to keep going like this, and also make sure that these situations don't happen. We want to take points, and we are going to keep fighting until the referee blows the final whistle.
Making improvements
We are aware that we have many things to improve. It's important to recognise that. We have to concede fewer goals; the numbers are there for all to see. However, conceding a lot of goals is a consequence of many other things, and that's what we are going to work on.
The importance of the fans
I've only arrived recently, but I've seen that when the fans can tell that the players are giving their all, they cheer them on. That's why we've been able to get points late on in games recently, because the fans have seen that the team are working and want it. They've cheered us on, and thanks to them we got a point at the weekend, another against Mallorca, and another against Athletic Club.
The game against Real Sociedad
Every game is difficult. It goes without saying. We know that we are going to suffer, and that the opposition are going to suffer as well. We are going to try to win.
His own adaptation
It's not for me to say whether I've adapted quickly or not, but I'm very happy here. I've received a great welcome from my teammates and the fans as well. What I'm going to try to do is work hard and prepare to do the best I can.
